It's a win for Service Designer!
Here is some timely news following our Write DESIGNER campaign. The Australian Bureau of Statistics has officially included Service Designer in the draft Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA), now open for final public consultation ahead of its March 2027 release. The inclusion of Service Designer in the draft follows the DIA's years-long advocacy to include both Service Designer and Strategic Designer in the framework. Ahead of the 18 September deadline, the DIA will be preparing and submitting feedback to the ABS on the absence of Strategic Designer from the draft, as well as on the proposed description changes to Digital and Service Designers, UI/UX Designer and Graphic and Visual Content Designers, working closely with our colleagues, advisors and broader network.
