DIA Members Recognised at the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards

The Design Institute of Australia proudly congratulates all DIA members recognised at the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards.


This year's awards showcased the breadth, creativity and quality of Australian interior design, with DIA members receiving major honours across residential, commercial, retail, public and workplace categories. Among the highlights were Woods Bagot's Premier Award for Australian Interior Design for The Forest, alongside other award winners: YSG Studio, Pattern Studio, Flack Studio, Hassell and Kennedy Nolan.

The awards also recognised the contribution of DIA members through the commendations program, highlighting the depth of talent across Australia's interior design profession. Commendations were awarded to Akin Atelier, Billard Leece Partnership and Workshop Architecture, Carr, DesignOffice, Melissa Collison Design, PAPER, Studio Y, Studio Tali Roth, YSG Studio, and Studio Peter King in collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria.

The Australian Interior Design Awards celebrates the role interior design professionals plays in shaping the way Australians live, work, learn, gather and connect. This year 228 projects made the shortlist and the breadth of recognition received by DIA members reflects the strength, innovation and impact of Australia's interior design community.

The DIA is proud to celebrate the achievements of all members recognised through this year's awards program and acknowledges Architecture Media, the Australian Interior Design Awards jury, partners and supporters for their ongoing commitment to championing excellence in Australian interior design and the profession nationally.

Convened by Geraldine Maher, Director of Maher Design, the jury for 2026 comprises Mardi Doherty founder and principal, Studio Doherty, Iva Foschia, Director, IF Architecture, Paul Foskett, Principal and head of interior design APAC, Populous, Alessandra French, Co-founder, State of Kin, Tim Greer Director, Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects, Brahman Perera, Director, Brahman Perera, Eva-Marie Prineas, Principal, Studio Prineas, and Kirsti Simpson, Studio chair and global leader of workplace interior design, Woods Bagot.

Congratulations to all winners, commendations and shortlisted studios and practices.

The Australian Interior Design Awards are presented by the Design Institute of Australia and InteriorsAu. The awards are supported by Dulux, Space, Sub-Zero Wolf, Laminex, Elton Group, Roca, Bowermans, GH Commercial and Nightworks.
