Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) Consultation round 2 opening 15 June

The second round of consultation for the review of ANZSCO will open on 15 June 2023.

This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback on selected occupations, helping shape the quality of Australia’s future occupation and labour market information.

The ABS is particularly interested in understanding what occupations have evolved, been replaced, or changed, whether skill requirements have shifted over time, and whether there are any emerging fields or unique jobs that you believe will shape the future.

  1. Occupations under review: the occupations selected for review this round cover a wide range of industries, including health, construction, manufacturing, engineering and more. You are encouraged to explore the list of occupations that will be reviewed. Your input will be instrumental in ensuring ANZSCO reflects a contemporary labour market.

  2. How to participate: the process is straightforward and user-friendly to gather your insights. A submission guide will be available on the ABS Consultation Hub from June 15, outlining the steps to participate and provide feedback.

  3. Impacting the future: your contributions to the ANZSCO review will inform and shape educational pathways, skilled migration programs and strategies that support our workforce to remain adaptable and equipped with the right skills.
