DIA Accredited Designer Application

Under which pathway would you prefer to be assessed for your design credentials?

1 Qualification pathway

Applicable for an individual holding an AQF 7, 8, 9 or 10 qualification e.g. degree or above in any of the ABS OSCA 242 profiles for design.

Qualification and experience:

  • Design, AQF 7, 8, 9 & 10 (Degree, Honours, Masters & PhD)

  • + 3 years full-time practice in design discipline, to be assessed at the point of application.

  • Additional experience may be required for regulated disciplines licensed with broad scopes of work.

2 Equivalence  pathway

Applicable for an individual holding a design qualification that does not meet AQF 7 level e.g. certificate or diploma in design or associated field qualifications. Entry is reached by demonstrating design competency equivalence rather than by qualification, even where there isn't one held.

Qualification and experience:

  • Design, AQF 4, 5 or 6:  + 5 years' full-time design practice, with the exception of those disciplines in regulated environments which may require more than 5 years.

  • Other associated disciplines, AQF 7+: + 5 years of full-time design practice, with the exception of those disciplines in regulated environments which may require more than 5 years.
