The small group of First Nations architects and academics have been shifting the Western paradigm of architecture in Australia for many years. Finally, we are witnessing a broader swath of built projects that champion Indigenous collaborations, histories and knowledge. As this movement continues to grow, it is timely to see how far we as an industry have come, and how far we have to go.
In this symposium guided by curatorial committee Sarah Lynn Rees, Carroll Go-Sam and Dillon Kombumerri, 10 projects have been selected to explore best practice when designing for First Nations clients and communities, and for Country. We’ll also unpack how our industry is faring in terms of education, advocacy and policy making. Earn 7 DIA CPD points – book your tickets now!
