Be counted. Be recognised.
The Design Institute of Australia is leading a national survey to inform its submission to the Australian Bureau of Statistics for the 2027 update of the Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA) published in 2024. The outcome will shape how designers are recognised, supported and valued for years to come.

We promote, support and protect the character, status and interests of persons engaged in Design and Associated Professions. It’s the first object of our constitution and at any one time we can be advocating on a range of issues.

The DIA policy agenda is an ongoing program of development, engagement and communications with an explicit focus on effective advocacy. Covering various themes and issues of relevance across design domains provides a basis for discussion and action.
An informed, evidence-based policy position on key issues affecting the design industry and DIA members provides the foundation for our advocacy activities, including stakeholder outreach and media management.
