    We are looking for a creative design lead, with experience working in interior architectural spaces, ideally in the cultural sector. You should have experience in the full scope of the creative design process, including managing and delivering projects. You will join our small Sydney-based team and work on a wide range of projects, small to large projects. You will liase with FRD’s Director and in-house 3-D and Graphic Designers, and externally with clients, stakeholders and contractors. A number of our projects are based outside of Sydney, so a desire to travel is required.

    Design

    Trend Forecasting and Range Building

    Account Management

    Collaboration is key! Working closely with the Buyer, part of your role will include account management which will see you influencing situations and outcomes.     The UTS Design Innovation Research Centre is recruiting for a Strategic Design Graduate to support the diffusion of design research to industry partners, using a design led approach to partner problems from ideation to implementation to build design capability within their organisations.

    About the Centre

    The Design Innovation Research Centre (DIRC) partners with a broad cross-section of industry, community and government to disrupt traditional business practices and mindsets to develop capability for complex problem solving. Given our transdisciplinary focus, we do not reside within a faculty but form part of the UTS Creative Intelligence Strategy.

    About the role

    As a Strategic Design Graduate, you will support the diffusion of complex research methods to a broad range of industry partners within a university context. Your role is not to solve the problems of industry, as would be undertaken in a consulting services role, but to build the knowledge and skills within the partner’s organisation while allowing for new insight to be captured and refined. This is a new model of industry engagement for a university, which is being developed as part of the Centres mission. Therefore remaining open and agile to new models of engagement and adopting a continuous improvement mindset will be required to shape the role.

    Frequent interstate travel may be required.

    Base Salary Range: $65,956to $75,454 pa (HEW 5)
